降低价格是许多零售商为了使具有时间敏感性的商品,如电子产品和时尚产品在供需上相匹配所采用的普遍策略。假如卖家不大幅度的降低价格,在商品周期的末尾将会出现库存的过剩,商品将不得不以极低的残值被丢弃或抛售。另一方面,如果价格定的过低,所有商品也许会很快销售一空而导致可能的收入的锐减。
因此为了确保公司的高收益,有一个平衡的方法就显得尤为重要。在降低价格时,大型零售连锁店很多时候不得不考虑所有商店都由一个中央仓库来调配商品,因为它们共享了降价的商品库存。这里常常会有各种商业规则需要遵从。
在讲座中,陈志龙博士将谈到联合的库存分配和降低价格的问题,以及一个基于优化的解算法来解决这些问题。同时引出一些管理学方面的真知灼见,包括商业规则的影响,在总的预期收益,优化库存分配和价格决策方面的个别商店的价格敏感性。

报名截止时间:2015年2月10日Dr. Chen received his PhD degree in Operations Research from Princeton University in 1997, and is currently a professor of operations management at the Robert H. Smith School of Business.
Dr. Chen worked as an assistant professor of systems engineering at University of Pennsylvania from 1997 to 2001, prior to moving to the Smith School. His research interests cover supply chain scheduling, production and logistics operations, dynamic pricing, and optimization. He has published over 50 journal articles in these areas. Dr. Chen has conducted several NSF funded research projects on integrated production and distribution operations, and the coordination between dynamic pricing and scheduling. He is working closely with industry on several projects in the areas of supply chain optimization and dynamic pricing. He is currently serving as an associate editor of Operations Research, IIE Transactions, NRL, Networks, and Journal of Scheduling. Dr. Chen has taught a number of undergraduate, graduate, and executive courses on optimization, supply chain management, and operations management. He has received excellent teaching evaluations for most of the courses he has taught at the Smith School.
